ロシア連邦宇宙局によると、設計寿命7年以上のGLONASS−M衛星３機を搭載したプロトン・ロケットがモスクワ時間10月26日11時35分（日本時間16時35分）、カザフスタンのバイコヌール宇宙基地から打ち上げられました。これによりGLONASSはロシア全土をカバーする18機体制となり、今後2009年までにフルシステムの24機の配置を計画しています。
